Each year, students in fifth, eight, and 12th grade from across the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux are chosen to represent their schools as part of the Student of the Year program. The Louisiana Department of Education recognizes students from across the state based on characteristics such as leadership, academic performance, achievements, citizenship, and service to both the school and community.
National Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The 2022 theme is "Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service."
One of our traditions at St. Mary's is the 8th grade t-shirt. Each year, some of the 8th graders create a drawing for their class shirt. The image, along with a bible verse, is placed on a shirt that the 8th graders and teachers wear each Friday.
