National Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The 2022 theme is "Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service." The events to be held at St. Mary's Nativity School for this week are as follows:
- Monday, Jan. 31: Celebrating Community - Students are asked to bring canned food items which will be donated to the food bank.
- Tuesday, Feb. 1: Celebrating Parents - We look forward to seeing you in morning drop off line (weather permitting).
- Wednesday, Feb. 2: Celebrating Our Nation - Students may wear patriotic outfits or any shirt with the colors of the American flag. We will have a flag raising ceremony (weather permitting), and students will write thank you notes to our veterans. (FLAG RAISING CANCELLED)
- Thursday, Feb. 3: Celebrating Vocations - Students are encouraged to dress as their future vocation. We will also recognize priests that have had an instrumental role in developing and supporting our school.
- Friday, Feb. 4: Celebrating Our Students - Students may dress down. Students do not have to wear school shoes, socks, or belts; please no jeggings or leggings. Students will participate in a living rosary at 2 p.m. to conclude the week. Parents are invited to attend if the weather permits and the event is held outside. We ask families to socially distance in order to follow CDC guidelines. (LIVING ROSARY CANCELLED)
